You should know that Dunkin' Donuts and Baskin-Robbins Ice Cream are the same company (British-owned, yet!), and have been since 1990. Yet this is the rare example of both being under one roof. This is a useful synergy, as you can get a donut or an ice cream at one place, and if there are two of you, one can get one and one the other. This place happens to be within walking distance of where I live, so I go here frequently, and in the morning usually get two donuts and a tea (hot when the weather's cold, iced when the weather is hot). And by now they know me here. (Though one person actually has still asked me if I want a coffee -- and I've NEVER ordered a coffee in my life!) The Dunkin' Donuts across the street from Wheaton Metro has toasted coconut among their flavors; this one does not. I wish they did, but they've told me they use a different kitchen and that's why not. I still wonder why different DD's don't carry the same variety. The vanilla cream, maple frosted, and some other varieties still keep me pretty happy; DD's vanilla cream donuts went really bad for a while when the county forced them to go without trans fats, but they seem to have found a good recipe and I really like the current version. Baskin-Robbins used to have a pretty good variety of flavors which changed every month. They seem to have settled on a set that never changed and just rotate 2 or 3 each month. But the ones they have include several of my favorites so when I come here for ice cream (usually in late afternoon, as opposed to mornings for donuts and tea) I usually have to choose from several real favorites of mine. So the lack of change actually helps me -- I won't find that they don't have pistachio almond this month. Sometimes this place has a long line in the morning, but it moves. I've never had long to wait.

BP and I stopped to grab a croissant donut and decided to get a sugar cookie latte as well. I am almost certain that we were given the snicker doodle drink instead... Anyway, the place was packed so we had trouble finding a seat, but the worst part was that the cleaning lady made us stand up and walk away from our food so she could clean the floor around it. She then moved out table to a different location. Granted it was only a foot away from where we were originally sitting, but my hoodie was on one chair and my food was at another table. I was astonished. She did this to all the other patrons as well...

This is probably the dirtiest DD in the area. It recently (within the last year) went through some renovations, which slightly improved it. Still, it's not the best. There are way too many DDs in the area to come to this one. The strip mall it's in is sketchy as hell too. No thanks. I'll go to the newly expanded and remodeled location at White Flint.

QUICK TIP: I wish the Rockville Pike / Nicholson Lane location would take customer service lessons from this location. These guys ROCK!! REVIEW: I appreciate there is little glamor or notoriety to be gained from submitting reviews for such pedestrian fare as a Dunkin Donuts. That said, I ask you to saddle up, little amigos...this location has not failed to impress. Rehashing the "menu" is not warranted: tasty lumps of dough and sugar are thrashed about in a vat of hot oil...mmmm, tasty!! Comparably, one need not retread why you should go; you want donuts or coffee. Well then why are you writing this, Jason? Because, as you will gain from seeing my other reviews: I COVET good service. This morning, I elected to drive all the way from the Rockville Pike / Nicholson Lane location to this one because I wanted to be served by cheerful, competent people that offered a solid selection of product. To be fair, the Rockville Pike location is on a smaller scale - think person grabbing a cup of Jo / muffin before a train ride (uh oh...never mind that last part about food / beverage on METRO). In any case, what I appreciated about the Veirs Mill Rd Dunkin Donuts is that I am consistently greeted by people with hustle. I LIKE hustle. It makes me find MY hustle...it is understood that hustle is a good thing. I'm not going to thrash out how you get into this location. It is located at a fairly complex and heavily-traveled corner. Please disregard the throngs of suspiciously eager young men standing about the plaza in attire that looks remarkably well suited to....opportunistic day labor. Remember you are there for the donuts...and the service.
